Viola after Gasparo da Sálo 1580
This Lu-Mi instrument is a viola after Gasparo da Sálo circa 1580. Gasparo da Sálo violas are still considered among the best, and many prestigious soloists have chosen them.
The Gasparo da Sálo model comes in standard and master quality. The master quality viola has decorative inlay on the back and English style decoration on the belly. The fingerboard and tailpiece are ebony over maple in the deluxe model and maple only in the standard model. Carved scroll and pegboxes and/or dragon heads are available as well as antique varnish.
